If you can't create a product or membership level, or MemberMouse is 'hanging' when trying to search in Manage Members, this usually means that the database collation or the theme charset is set to something other than UTF-8. If this is the case, MemberMouse will not be able to interpret special characters correctly and this will cause issues while searching member data that contain special characters or while trying to add information to the mm_ database tables, as happens when creating a product.

Solution Steps (NOTE: Only follow these if you're just getting started with MemberMouse)

If you're just getting started and don't have any data in MemberMouse, or very little data, the easiest and safest way to address this is to do the following:

1. Follow the steps to Uninstall MemberMouse. (This will delete your data, that's why it's important to only do this if you're just getting started)

2. Via phpMyAdmin, navigate to the database that's being used for your WordPress install. This is the database table listed in your wp-config.php file.

3. Set the default collation of the database to utf8_unicode_ci

4. Perform a fresh install of the MemberMouse plugin

Following this all of the MemberMouse tables will have been installed.
