Due to the addition of enhanced libraries for Stripe and Braintree in order to accommodate 3D Secure checkout, the plugin file size of this update is greater than 2MB. Default file upload limit on most servers is 2MB, so if this is the case for you, you’ll need to take extra steps to get the plugin uploaded to your server.
Once you have upgraded to 2.3.0, you will need to activate Stripe Elements (for Stripe) or Hosted Fields / 3D Secure 2 (for Braintree) in the Payment Settings menu to be compliant with the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirement. Once activated, we recommend that you test the checkout process to confirm that the checkout fields display as you’d like with your theme. Information on activation and formatting can be found here.
Upgrading to MemberMouse v2.3.0
1. Deactivate and delete the current version.
Go to the Plugins page in WordPress.
Scroll down to the MemberMouse Platform plugin and click Deactivate.
Now click Delete on the MemberMouse Platform plugin.
On the following page, click the button to confirm you want to delete the plugin.
Don't worry, none of your MemberMouse settings will be lost when you do this.
2. Install the MemberMouse Plugin
- Make sure your site is able to install plugins bigger than 2MB in size. We recommend that you install a plugin such as the Upload Larger Plugins plugin to allow for this if your webhost does not support it.
- Download this version of the MemberMouse plugin and save it in a location on your computer that you can find later.
Log into your WordPress site and go to the Plugins page.
Click the Add New button at the top of the page.
Click on the Upload link at the top of the page.
Under where it says Install a plugin in .zip format, click the Browse button and navigate to the place where you saved the MemberMouse plugin.
Click the button.
On most servers, clicking the Install Now button will start the process automatically. However, sometimes additional security is required by the server and WordPress will ask for your FTP credentials. Just fill out the form and click Proceed.
After the installation has completed, click the Activate Plugin link to activate MemberMouse.
After the plugin has been activated, you may see a yellow bar with a message that says that MemberMouse can't use the cache.
MemberMouse utilizes a directory on your server to cache files in order to increase performance. When this message displays it means that MemberMouse can't write to that directory because of a permissions issue. To correct this and allow MemberMouse to utilize the cache directory, just click the Click here to correct this link. Depending on your server configuration, WordPress may ask you for your FTP credentials in order to proceed.
